The Squier Fat Stratocaster is a powerful piece of music potential. With a throwback look that is more 1970’s than 2011, this guitar is built for playing. It is made of durable materials with a decent enough finish to frustrate the more common ways that one accidentally damages a guitar. In addition, as a plus for beginners, the Squier Fat Stratocaster holds its tune decently due to its efficient construction and six standard die cast tuners. The oversized headstock immediately brings one back to a time that guitars dominated music. The pickguard is a beautiful addition to a solid instrument.

With three pick-ups and twenty-two frets, the Squier Fat Stratocaster gives a novice the tools to begin a musical journey well prepared. It is a great guitar to take the first steps toward blues or classic rock licks or even to progress through chords. The sound is typically full with play being easy on the more than adequate fingerboard. Using decent quality strings will maximize the performance of this guitar.

While there have been reports of problematic sound quality associated with the Squier Fat Stratocaster, this should not scare away a potential buyer. A quick play of the guitar or communication with a music store employee can relax the tension. Typically, the Squier Fat Stratocaster has had some issues with the low e string buzzing. However, lowering the action can quickly remedy the situation. This is a decent guitar, that is durable and at a decent price for a beginner.

For a beginner guitar, the Epiphone Les Paul Special II is a sure fire winner. Lightweight, easy to play strings and chords, easy tuning, plus, it offers a beautiful design and body. It features 22 jump frets, a rosewood fretboard, a mahogany and rosewood handle, and the body of the guitar is alder/maple wood. All making for a smooth, fresh looking guitar.

It has an ebony black finish, covered by dot inlays and chrome hardware for the strings. It also features a tune-o-matic bridge, one volume, on tone, and one three-way switch, to get varying degrees of sound, for any tune or genre you are looking to play. Also, there are much fewer controls on the Epiphone, meaning for a beginner, there are fewer things to learn, meaning it is easier to learn to play on this guitar, than one with more buttons and tuning features.

It has a great volume control, and can play anything from country to heavy metal, and still offer a strong sound. It offers even action and volume throughout the entire body of the guitar as well. Meaning a smoother sound, and greater music quality. It can also be heard in any location, from the small coffee shop down the street, to a big stage full of thousands of screaming fans.

The ease of which the player can play any tune makes it a great guitar for beginners. Plus, the body looks great, has fewer buttons and controls, meaning it is very easy to control for a beginner player.

You can get the most extreme sounds, and can play almost any song or genre on the guitar. From rock n roll, to the blues, you will get a great sound every time, and for acoustic style songs, you will get the cleanest quality. It offers a line 6 flextone, 2 amp, and the bridge isn’t very loud when not in play.

It is built of quality and durable materials, so you can be rest assured it will not get dented or banged up easily. The string coils are extremely durable, and can handle any strength placed on them; yet, for a great sound, you can use the softest touch, and still get great volume.
